Vote for the winner of our £10,000 makeover competition!

We had an overwhelming response to our extreme makeover competition. The stories you sent in about why you deserved to win made us laugh and cry - sometimes at the same time - and everyone who entered deserved a prize (and a big hug).

But, sadly, there can only be one winner of the £10,000 worth of plastic surgery that's up for grabs, courtesy of our friends at Europa International.

So, after much soul-searching, we've whittled it down to our shortlist of 10 women who we reckon would get a massive boost out of winning this competition. It's up to you to do the rest. Read their stories here, and over the next three pages, then get voting for your favourite by phone, text, post or on our website, www.fullhousemagazine.co.uk

If your favourite wins, you'll automatically be entered into our cash draw. One lucky reader will walk away with £1,000 - so what are you waiting for? Get voting!

Alison Baker24, Exeter
'I should win because. I want to show my ex what he's missing! I was in a relationship for three years with a guy I initially thought was amazing, but who gradually became manipulative and controlling. He made me feel really bad about myself, really unattractive. We split up nearly a year ago, and I want to show him how much happier and more in control I am since he exited my life. I'd love a boob job to boost my self-esteem - it would be a dream come true.'

Angela Cotton, 33, Camberwell
'I should win because. my body has given up on me! My husband of five years left me last Christmas, and I'm sure it's because of the way I look. I've had four kids, although my youngest son tragically died in 1999, aged two. Childbirth has left me with sagging skin on my stomach - and no boobs at all. I have to pad my bra with chicken fillets. I've wanted corrective surgery for such a long time, but there's no way I can afford it. Winning this competition would help my self-esteem so much.'

'I should win because. I've just turned 40, and I really need a boost. A few years back, within the space of three weeks, I lost three people, who I loved very much - my mum, my dad, and my best friend. I was so heartbroken at their sudden deaths that I ended up drinking heavily. With the help of my husband, Shaun, and my wonderful children, Nathan, 22, Natalie, 20, Keifer, 14, and Anna, 3, I quit drinking and smoking completely, but all the stress - and booze - has taken its toll on my looks. I'm a bit wobbly, and I'd like to get rid of the lines of my face. My boobs could do with a lift, too. Oh, just do all of me please!'

Carolyn Smith, 52, Middlesborough
'I should win because. worry is making me look old before my time. The wrinkles are creeping in, and everything is going south! My daughter, Nicola, 32, was nearly killed in a car accident, and then my son, Darren, 35, was rushed to hospital with a brain haemorrhage. Thankfully, they're both fine now but, with all the worry, I think I aged about 10 years practically overnight! I'd like to turn the years back, even if only a little, and winning this would mean so much to me.'

Christine Adams, 55, Hartlepool
'I should win because. I look 10 years older than I really am. People look surprised when I say I'm 55, not 65. I've been so busy running round after my five daughters and their kids over the years that I've ended up neglecting myself - and it shows. I hate my baggy eyes, wrinkles and teeth. I'm pretty skinny, so my daughters even say I look like Skeletor! I'd just like to look my age - and if I manage to look a few years younger, that'd be a real bonus!'

Vote for Christine:

Emma Powdrill, 30, Nottingham
'I should win because. I've got no self-confidence. Shortly after giving birth to my youngest son, Jake, in November 2003, doctors told me that he'd got the genetic disorder cystic fibrosis. I love him to bits, but that news came as a real blow, and I sank into depression, and put on loads of weight. I finally snapped out of it six months ago, and have managed to lose most of the weight. But I've still got stubborn areas of fat I just can't shift, no matter how hard I try - liposuction would be brilliant. At the moment, I feel so unattractive I won't even leave the house - please help.'

Vote for Emma:

Gemma Williamson, 28, Romford
'I should win because. I want to feel like a real woman on my wedding day. I've had a complex about the size of my breasts for years - there's not much up top. I keep trying to save up for a boob job, but with kids and a mortgage to worry about, it's never going to happen. My long-term partner, Barry, and I are getting married next August, and it would be a dream come true if I could fill out the top half of my dress on my wedding day. Barry works so hard for our family - it would be a real treat for him too!'

Vote for Gemma:

Karen Williams, 47, Slough
'I should win because. I spend so much time helping others, I've no time for myself. Four years ago, I lost my best friend to cancer, followed soon after by my mum, then my dad. I felt powerless to prevent their deaths - but, in a way, it inspired me. At the age of 43, I went back to college and, in 2006, I qualified as a registered nurse. I now work in a busy trauma and orthopaedic ward, helping to save the lives of others. It's so fulfilling - and I know Mum would have been so proud - but I'd love the chance to look as good on the outside as I feel on the inside. Pick me!'

Vote for Karen:

Mary Ferridge, 48, Crewe
'I should win because. I've had no time, or energy, to look after myself recently. The last three years have been really tough for me. I lost my sister, Anne, to cancer in 2004. She was only 47. I cared for her right until the end. I had spinal surgery in 2005, and I'm not allowed to exercise as a result, so I've put on some weight. I'm feeling really low, and I'm on anti-depressants at the moment. A nip here, and a tuck there to get me feeling trim again, would certainly cheer me up!'

Vote for Mary:

Sarah Anderson, 48, Southend-on-sea
'I should win because. my kids say I look like Keith Miller, the long-haired layabout from Eastenders. I'm a full-time mum of seven kids, and I have very little time or money to spend on myself. I feel like a middle-aged frump. My 16-year-old twins, Sarah and Katy, first spotted the resemblance to Keith Miller, and Keith's now my new nickname. The kids think it's hysterical, but it makes me want to cry. Please get rid of my Keith image, and make a whole new me!'
